Doha, 15 April 2025 — The fifth meeting of the four sister regional civil aviation organisations – the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC) – was held in Doha on 15 April 2025 to discuss the organisations’ shared priorities.

H.E. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the Council of ACAO and of the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia, chaired the meeting. The presidents of AFCAC, ECAC and LACAC, respectively Florent Serge Dzota (Republic of Congo), Alessio Quaranta (Italy) and Ingrid Azucena Zelaya Florian (Guatemala), together with the directors of all four organisations, attended this meeting.

Key topics addressed included the ratification of protocols amending Articles 50(a) and 56 of the Chicago Convention, preparations for the 42nd ICAO Assembly and the respective priorities of each region, as well as joint initiatives for 2025.

Together, the regional organisations reaffirmed their commitment to closer cooperation and to promoting safe, efficient and sustainable global air transport.
